The Entities page
The Entities page lists every entity your org has built, as cards or a table. Click one to open the builder. → What an entity is
A domain filter in the header narrows the list to what one domain serves, + creates a new entity, and both views sort by name. The table also sorts on any column and adds a Home Domain column, showing who maintains each entity. → Domain management
A card shows the entity’s name, object and API name, description, whether it is active, and what it carries — fields, lists, metrics, enrichments. Give every entity a description: the card shows it, and Get Catalog ships it to agents choosing between your entities.
Entity actions
Each entity has five actions, in the card’s ⌄ menu or the table’s row menu.

Copy duplicates the source’s draft — fields, instructions, related lists, references and elements. You name the copy up front. It is never the object’s default, it starts Inactive with no versions, and it records what it was copied from and the version the origin was serving. Write access never carries through a copy; re-enable it deliberately. Change the copy, point one agent at it, and leave the original serving everything else.

The builder is one canvas, arranged the way the payload is:

Enrichment Referenced ObjectsClick a card to edit it, or a + Add … card to add one. The entity’s instruction sits above the canvas. The header carries the name, description, an Active / Inactive badge, and Preview, Versions, Activate and Save.
Under the header, a bar shows the entity’s home domain and, when your draft is ahead of what agents receive, either Unsaved Changes or Edited Draft. The first wants Save, the second wants Activate. A quiet bar means the two agree.
Save writes the draft. Agents keep assembling from the active version until you Activate, and preview reflects even unsaved edits. → Versions
Entity settings
Hover the title and click the cog for name, API name, description and — for a named entity — home domain. Unlike the rest of the builder, these save immediately.
The name changes freely; the API name must stay unique. Domains and elements follow a rename automatically. An Agentforce action or MCP client that names the old one stops working, and past usage history stays under the old name.
Notes
- A metric created from the canvas saves to the shared library immediately. Its use on this entity still rides your Save.
- Domain managers are asked for a home domain when creating or copying an entity; admins are not.
- Domain managers see entities outside their domains read-only, with a banner naming the reason.
