Inspecting and Editing Deals
Last updated April 15, 2026
Each row in the List View gives you a complete picture of a deal — and lets you act on it without leaving the page. Here’s what’s available in each deal row and how to use it.
Flags
The flag icon on the left side of each row lets you mark deals for follow-up. Use flags to tag deals you want to revisit — during a one-on-one, after a pipeline call, or for further review. The toolbar’s flag button filters the view to show only flagged deals.
Deal details on hover
Hover over the opportunity name to see a detail modal with key fields — account, amount, close date, stage, and any additional fields your admin has configured (like a custom amount field or a “current generator” field).
Click the pencil icon in the hover modal to make those fields editable directly.
Inline editing
The main row shows the core sales data: amount, close date, sales stage, and forecast category. If you have edit permissions on a field, click it to update it directly in the list — no need to open the Salesforce record.
For example, move a close date back a few days, change a forecast category from Best Case to Commit, or update an amount — all inline, all saved immediately.
Change indicators
After you edit a field (or when a field changes through any means), a colored change indicator appears on the row. Green indicates an increase, red indicates a decrease.
Hover over the indicator to see what changed, when, and by how much. The change period is controlled by the toolbar — set it to:
- Last 7 days (default) — see everything that changed this week
- Last day — see only today’s changes
- Custom periods — last 14 days, this month, etc.
Change indicators make it easy to scan the list and immediately spot which deals moved since your last review.
Sales process column
The column between the standard sales data and the action buttons is customizable. By default it shows Next Steps, but your admin can configure it to show:
- Sales methodology stoplight — a green/yellow/red indicator for MEDDPICC, SPICED, or your custom methodology
- Custom widgets — a collection of small data displays showing scores, progress charts, or hierarchy information. These can connect to third-party AppExchange apps.
- Status badges — colored indicators based on calculated values, like days in stage
TIP
The sales process column is a powerful way to surface methodology compliance directly in the pipeline review — no separate report needed.
Deal actions
The right side of each row has action buttons:
- Edit Opportunity — opens the full Salesforce record
- Edit Account — opens the related account
- Create Task — creates a new Salesforce task linked to the deal
Your admin can extend this list with additional custom actions — launching a flow, opening a proposal, or any other action relevant to your team’s workflow.
