List View & Groupings
Last updated April 15, 2026
The List View is the go-to view for slicing, dicing, and digging into your pipeline deal by deal. It’s the second button in the left sidebar of Pipeline Reviews.
What makes the List View different from a Salesforce report is the grouping system — you can group opportunities by virtually any field, nest multiple levels, and reconfigure the view in seconds without building a new report.
Quick groupings
By default, the List View groups opportunities by forecast category. To change this, click the Group By button and pick a different field — stage name, opportunity owner, or any other option in the list.
Each group shows its own subtotals aligned to the header metrics (amount, committed and won, closed won). The group label also shows the count of open deals versus total deals, so you can see at a glance where your open pipeline sits.
Your admin controls which fields appear in the quick grouping list — they can add or remove options to match your team’s workflow.
Grouping by any field
Click More Groupings in the Group By menu to open the full groupings panel. From here, you can group by:
- Any field on the opportunity object — not just picklists. Amount fields automatically create bucketed ranges.
- Fields on related objects — group by account type, account industry, owner role, or any other field from Account, Contact, or Owner.
- Product fields — group by product family, product name, or any field on opportunity line items.
For example, group by Account Type to see your pipeline split by customer, direct, and channel — then drill into each segment.
Multi-level groupings
You’re not limited to one grouping level. Add a second, third, or more to create nested views:
- First level: Account Type (Customer, Direct, Channel)
- Second level: Forecast Category (Commit, Best Case, Pipeline)
- Third level: Opportunity Owner
This creates a hierarchy you can expand and collapse — start at the highest level for the big picture, then drill into the specific segment you care about.
Grouping behavior by field type
Different field types offer different grouping options:
- Picklist fields — group by the raw values, or create custom buckets to consolidate values into fewer groups.
- Numeric and currency fields (like Amount) — automatically bucketed into ranges. You get options for how those ranges are defined and presented.
- Date fields — choose between relative-to-now grouping (e.g., “closing in the next 30 days”), reverse relative (e.g., “closed in the last 90 days”), or specific fiscal periods like months, quarters, or years.
These options appear automatically when you select a field of that type in the groupings panel.
